I'm sure there have been similar shenanigans like that for generations...this generation is just lucky to have digital video and YouTube. :D

Word. My dad never really told me a lot about his time on the submarine but I do remember one story, which is rather tame but kind of funny, where they were in line for inspection and when the CO walked past him, my dad took off his hat (I don't know the technical term for it but the white one that the Navy wears) and pretended to blow his nose in it. Everyone thought it was hilarious. Except the CO. heh
